Time goes quickly as you grow older. I can remember as a kid it took forever to get trough school, to even age a year. Hell, one day was filled with activities, and when we went back home we still had half a day left. I was thrilled, because we could have more fun playing around. That doesn't happen anymore...
Highlights of my life as a 27 year old had to be the cruise we took to the Mediterranean with the in-laws. We hooked up with my parents for a few days before the boat left port, and wandered around Barcelona. First time seeing them in over 2 years. Time does go quick. (this actually happened just before my 27th birthday)
Then I went back to the Netherlands to visit them for 2 weeks, which was really nice. Saw all the people I wanted to see, plus a unexpected bonus in the form of my old "Akela" from scouting. Good times.
Work wise nothing really changed, still working at the major Toy Store, and still not full-time. There is talk about it though, the main man for upper Texas came up to me telling me I had to tug in my shirt (gets undone every time, and when I am working, I rarely pay attention to it anymore) and then proceeded to ask me if I was notified of a full time position. I said yes, but that particular store filled it internally. He said that he thought there still was a full-time position, and he'd get back to me about it. We'll see, I am not jumping up and down until I got it. But the guy has a reputation of coming through for his valued employees, one of them is a co-worker. That and I like him, he worked his way up from down low, where I am at right now. And those are the only people I can respect.
We've also been looking for houses. We nixed one, because of the extensive problems it had, and the unwillingness of the seller to grant us 10 grand off the sales price. Shortly after that fell trough we found the deal of the century, save for the fact it is a short-sale and the sellers agent did not notify the bank of the reduced price. We're ready to go, looking forward to close. Inlaws come over to help us out with that process and two days before closing it happens. We can't close because of the aforementioned issue. Now it can take till October. We could have been painting that sucker right now, fixing it up and getting rid of all the overgrown shrubbery. It would have been half way awesome by now. But... it ain't over till the fat lady sings. If this does not go through we'll be hard pressed to find a house before that December deadline to get the $8000 dollars of free Obama money. Dislike our new presidents wasteful and country destroying policies, but I'll take his money none the less. Better me than some schmuck that doesn't need it.
Oh, remember that first house I was talking about? The seller came back, see if we where still interested. What I said would happen happened... Should have given us the 10 grand bozo... Now you can continue to eat up your house and loose even more money. Never walk away from a good sane deal, even if it means giving up an extra 10 grand.
ANYWAY...
What do I look for in my 29th year of living on this world?
-> Full time job (preferably at current employer)
--> House (Please don't screw with us seller's bank...)
---> Motorcycle license
----> ...
27+1=28 2 more years and I'll be 30, and it's 22 years away from the big five-oh
